I understand about wanting self catering - I am hoping to find some nice places to get out to on a night for food. We like a bit of variety :) I was wondering - sally at the travel place told me shes dating nikos - the barman from the thomas bay - are there 2 at the hotel because ive seen nikos mentioned as having a scottish wife named heather? Dont want to put my foot it in - which is always my fate to be fair! Lol.

Welcome Sian

Myself and my wife fly out on 7th June for an 11 night stay. We're based at Fedre Mare at one end of the resort, but you'll find us in the Condor Bar(across the road from the Thomas Bay) most nights after we've eaten at one of the many fab restaurants in SS.
I'll be the one in the bar that sounds like a farmer! ;D

Hi Sian
Welcome to the Forum.
I have done the friend invite for Facebook so you can see the pictures - some will feature the inside and outside of the T/Bay Htl.
As others have said - The food is actually good in the T/Bay, and if you don't like any of the 3 choices for the evening - see (Older) Nikos, who will let you choose something else off the menu.
We also will stay there in Sept this time, Rooms are good-Average for Corfu Hotel rooms. Bit basic as in Greece generally, but hey you only sleep and change there anyway! Beds comfortable.
Honeymoon - I would phone Nikos with that info and request a DOUBLE room with Balcony, Facing Pool - (Top Floor) - is best, or facing street - you won't want one facing the stream as not so pretty and the frogs are noisy when mating in June!
Hotel and staff are a blast - talk to them and they make you a friend for life!!
Karaoke is nice there and also done at the Condor Bar opposite.
We love to get out and about as well so even though H/Board - we go out to eat as well.
You're on Honeymoon - so go to the Beachcomber Bistro one evening for a fantastic meal and watch the Sunset over the island in the Bay, lovely - but get there for 8:30 that night to eat - move on later!
A lasting memory for you. Sue Chalmers is a friend of mine on Facebook, she runs the place so best to book a good table the day before.
Her chef Nicki, is a brilliant cook and will cook off menu requests as well.
All the restaurants are good to eat in, but my top marks go to:
Mythica Restaurant = brilliant food, Ozzie Oils - brilliant food and atmosphere (see their web-site),
If you want some Greek Dancing while you eat try Little Prince - (Great sizzling Steak), lovely staff - fun evening with loads of character,
(I prefer them to Zorba's food wise - entertainment is similar - some will say the opposite)
You are young so try the Athens Bar, Condor as well as the T/Bay Hotel and the Bar next to Little Prince.
You will find that all places have that 'cozy' feel-good factor you just don't get in commercialised towns, all v/friendly.
You're just gonna' love it there on a Honeymoon - the Beach is Great and you can use the Athina Hotel Pool (biggest & by the Beach),
{you can use any pool in San Stef, in fact, except Delfino's - just buy your drinks or lunch there and they are happy}!!
Have a great time,
Tony and Linda

Gordonc:
Can echo Tony's comment about the Baechcomber. Great food in a beautiful setting. Do give up the Thomas Bay one night as you are on honeymoon and the Beachcomber will provide a special night out. Make sure you're there for the sunset!

Have a great time, Gordon

Sarah:
Hi Sian

We will just miss you.  We arrive on the 18th.  Like yourselves this will be our first stay at the Thomas Bay but not our first to San Stefanos - we are really looking forward to it too.

Sarah
