Hi - been following this with interest - we have never stayed at Romanza but have stayed in a host of places throughout the village in the 20 odd years I have been coming here - it is a place we have always wanted to eat at as the restaurant has some gr8 reviews - it's just that by the evening (with 2 young children in tow), that hill is the only thing that puts us off - but we will endeavour to give it a try this year as the kids are gettting old - as you say, the position of the Hotel is second to none. Have never taken anything on this forum - good or bad - as recommendations and we prefer as a family to make our own minds up - whats good for one is not to everyone's taste - but can honestly say over all these years have never had a bad meal / stayed in a bad place in SS - they are all different and need to be taken as such for their uniqueness / what u fancy on the night etc. Week monday we will be there and fighting as a family on where we are going to eat for the 1st night - but 14 nights in total so we manage to cram most of them in xx

Even though we did'nt stay at the Romanza this year we popped up more than once and believe me you will not find a better more friendly hotel in SS, anybody yet to go have no worries and enjoy its a fantastic place.

Welcome to the forums Sellsy and your excellent posting on this subject on what has at times sounded quiet fraught.

Yannis, I understand all that you are saying, it was just the 'likeability factor' that seemed a bad choice of words. If potential customers were to read this then it could put them off booking. Hope you understand where I am coming from.

More JAM anyone  :P  ;D

The Romanza is a great place to stay and the staff are friendly even IF they do favour the regular visitors
which is understandable .. I stand by the breakfast comments but the other food they serve is great !!

Enjoy it if you go

ps: Tony I think you are telling porkies about HOW MANY you got  ::)

Plenty of other guests are given the jam, but as I said it depends on your likeability.  If you didn’t get one (or three) perhaps it’s because of your outspoken attitude towards the adequate (in my opinion), continental breakfasts!!!

I DIDN'T speak out about the 'inadequate' breakfast to Katie as I know how little they are given by Thomsons ??  :-\
I doubt it was anything to do with this 'likeability' you speak of  :-\
... What meals we had otherwise  at the Romanza were great

I looked in the mirror and decided I had the like-ability factor - I went to the supermarket and bought myself 10 = yes 10!!
Pots of Jam as a reward - beat that!! LOL

Should we start a new thread called "Jam-Wars"???
