Good choice you've made too! Will be returning to the Athina on the 27th for a fortnight, havent been since 2006. Fab hotel though, really friendly staff. We didnt arrive until after 11pm when we went but they left the restaurant open for us as they thought we'd be hungry!!

The views from the dining area are stunning, have never seen a sunset like it! Have read a few criticisms of the food there, but every night there's a choice of 4 or 5 starters and main meals, the food is cooked perfectly. Along with the bread basket and side salad (that changes daily) I rarely had room for dessert!

The bar is quiet in the evening, but perfect for relaxation. Only a few minutes stroll away from the main drag though so that's not a problem at all if you want food/drinks elsewhere.

Pool area is second to none, our rep said it was the largest pool in Corfu, and could well be! There is never a fight for sunbeds, no need to get up early - think there are around 3 times as many sunbeds available as there are guests!

Anyways, I'll stop rambling on now, know you'll have a great time!! ;D

I have been speakong to a man today that has been to SS or Arillas for the last 12 years, he endorses everything I've read on this site, very friendly locals, good restaurants and bars, chilled atmosphere, amazing sunsets, we have never been back to a place two years running, time will tell if this is the first ! ;)

I am sure you won't be disappointed!
