Where is Yanni/Yannis ?

Hi everyone - a challenge for you regulars. Does anyone know where Yanni/Yannis is this year, he used to have the beds and umbrellas in front of the Athina in 2006 and 2007. I think he was working at the Romanza in 2008 or so we were told.

We would love to say hello to him again as he was so friendly and helpful to us, especially in 2007 when we went for the second time. The previous time we had been with my parents and in 2007 it was just my 2 daughters and myself and he took it upon himself to keep an eye on us and look after our things on the beach etc.

Just one of the many lovely people we have met, always feel so safe there and never worry about being on our own, wonder who else is still about as we missed going last year.

This is the Yannis who used to be a barman at the Athina in the early days
and was an extra in the James Bond Film shot in Corfu in 1981.
For your eyes only starring Rodger Moore. - He showed me all his photo's.
He used to park his battered old car by his Sunbeds Pitch!

He was a good friend of ours as well, he lives in one of the Villages, a bit further out, last I heard he was doing some driving.
His Father was quite ill and I believe passed away 2 years after he stopped doing the beds.
I am only going on hear-say - but I believe this to be correct.
I can find out in 2 weeks if no one else knows!!
However, his very good friend there is the Pool-bar Manager in the Athina and he has all the information.

He likes to work with people so a resort is his thing, as I said the Pool-bar Manager, the one whose wife and son work with him,
was pretty tight with Yannis and I would think they keep in touch.
I remember when we were there and they were having the local council elections, Yannis was working on the beach and asked me to give a leaflet to his friend
(sorry his name has gone out of my head!), in the poolbar.
I did and he went potty until I said it was from Yannis, then he laughed and laughed! Seems it was for the local communist party!
Anyway - I got a free round of drinks for that!! LOL
