Windsurfing
« on: August 27, 2010, 02:51:17 PM »
I wonder if you can help me please. I've had an enquiry from someone who wants to book my villa next year & they are asking if there is anywhere, where they can hire a windsurfing rig from?

Personally, I haven't seen many windsurfers in Arillas, but I have seen a few in Agios Georgios. Can you hire from there?

I would appreciate any information you may have.

Sara

There was one on the beach in San Stefanos this year. I didn't take it out because I can't windsurf any more - back problem - so I don't know what it's like.

I can check it late September if that will help.

Excellent suggestion, Don.

Tony - remember to keep a straight back when you pull on the uphaul or you'll fall backwards into the water. Camera, quick somebody!!!  :)

Sara, I will check this out on Tuesday, and will get back to you as soon as I get an answer and of course, a WiFi signal on my netbook,
I'll ask my friends there, including Noula who seems to have strong contacts everywhere.
Leon used to big on windsurfing when he was younger, so he may know as well.
I'll try to get you a phone or email as well!

One thing I have never been much good at was windsurfing, Jimbo - and now I'm even worse!! (but thanks for the caring thought!) LOL
Regards
Tony

I'm certain there was one in SS in July, but, as you say, Noula knows everything.

Windsurfing in a light breeze in the lovely Greek weather is like flying with Zephyros, the god of the west wind, powering you over the water. I really miss it!

I fondly remember our first few holidays in San Stefanos, when Illios Holidays, had windsurfers for hire on the beach and a young lad of about 12 years,
did somersaults over the dancing surf and rode the bucking board like they were conjoined, making the Adults look quite silly.
That lad was Leon and boy - - was he good!

No local windsurfer equipment hire.
Possibly st. George bay, but doubtful, as hourly only.
Sorry, asked loads of locals.
