Spooky Hotel

(1/2) > >>

Canary:
Hi all, I'm sure someone out there will be able to help me with this one.... ???

I've always been intrigued by this place (it's the deserted hotel up the lane opposite the Apsa Supemarket). My son calls it the spooky hotel as he always feels someone is watching you when you walk up to the place, especially round the back.......

I always think this could, and maybe was, a great hotel, it's in a brilliant prominent/central postion that must have sea views, at least from the top floors. Does anybody know anything about the place, when was it open, why did it close and if it may ever open again ?

Cheers

Gosh!! there is actually a big interesting thread about it buried here in the forum from last year!
I am just off to finish packing so I don't have time today to find it.
We went there last year for a nose around - it's just like the Marie celeste - deserted as if they dropped everything and ran out!
It may have a few squatters inside somewhere, as it felt creepy indeed and weird!
It was built for the German trade and went up if I recall, not complying with building regs or with permission.
Seems a shame really, but I believe it will have to come down.

Canary:
Hi TonyCo, thanks for your reply, have a great break, I'm not jealous at all !!

I can't believe you dared to go into the place, I wouldn't.

I'll have a hunt around to see if I can track down the previous thread, if i can't hope someone else will help guide me ?

cheers

sharris:
i asked Leo (Teresa Hotel ) about it one visit, he said it is now owned by the bank as whoever had it ran into serious debts and so now the bank owns it - cant see anything happening with it now - its a shame as you say, fantastic locations and views i imagine.

Sarah

i go back 2 weeks friday - may go for a nose myself !!

Jules:
Just be careful near the place - roof now missing
