Air Traffic controllers strike

(1/2) > >>

swedebasher:
French ones have been on strike and massive Europe wide disruption and cancellations. Looks like I might not be flying Friday!!! >:(

Jimbo:
It should be possible to avoid French airspace going to Greece - but planes will be a bit chaotic. Suggest contacting carrier. I will be contacting Thomsons - we fly morning of 24th, so IN THEORY it shouldn't be a problem for us...

swedebasher:
My brother in law saw it on telly last night, and I have Googled it and read up, BUT having checked Stansted/Gatwick and my Norwich airport, I am unable to find any evidence of any delays. Nothing in todays papers, nothing on Thomsons website!!! One flight (QueasyJet) was actually early back at one airport- only delays around an hour on some Spanish flights, but that is nothing. How odd!

Jimbo:
There isn't much on the news. You would think that a 7 day strike would at least register on the BBC News site, but ATM it's not there.

Currently, Doncaster is showing tomorrow's Thomson flight as on schedule. They can re-route over Germany and down the Balkans, or down the Channel and over Italy. There should be plenty of planes because all the flights into France will be cancelled.

swedebasher:
Jim- I wonder if he heard about the IRISH traffic controller strike and missed the important bit ::) (That was yesterday)
