San Steph at Easter (including photos)_

(1/4) > >>

Gillywoo:
Gill and I are going to Corfu Town for the Easter celebrations and have decided to hire a car and do an out of season tour of North Corfu.

Of course we cant resist visiting San Steph and seeing what its like with no tourist!

The weather forecast for the weekend is 23c and sunny so we intend walking the full length of the beach but I doubt we will be tempted for a dip.

Finding somewhere for lunch will be interesting but we will let you know how we get on and post some photos on our return.

Friends think we are mad but hey its my 50th Birthday and I will if I want too ;D

Andy

debra:
I don't think you're mad - I think it sounds fab!

don:
Look forward to hearing all about it Andy. Have a great birthday too.
Will we see you this year?

Jules:
Sounds idyllic

Gillywoo:
Hi,

As planned Gill and I went to San Steph on Easter Sunday and what a treat! The weather was sunny and warm and we went for a long walk parking up near the Teresa and walking down onto the beach near the Havana Bar.

The beach has been badly damaged by storms in December and now has a six foot cliff instead of gently sloping dunes, the Teresa  family are going have great fun getting their big float off it!

The main change on the beach is the frontage to the Mango Bar which has now been extended across to the new frontage for the Delfino Blu extension, a lot of work still needs doing on the hotel itself (it has two new pools) but the beach section should be complete soon making the Mango Bar a smart accessory.

The beach was covered in sea weed and litter and the council has its work cut out cleaning it up for this week.

Little has changed in the town although the light shop opposite the Little Prince has moved to that old building down by the beach, Tasty Corner was the only place open in San Steph so we moved on to Arillas which had a few more people as one of the hotels were open.

The busiest place we visited (apart from Corfu Town) was Kassiopi which had a lot of visitors and my favourite harourside Taverna 'Waves' was packed! It was great having lunch under the warm April sun, so great that we went back to Kassipoi on Easter Monday.

I will post a few pics later today when I learn how to do it.

Don, yes got two weeks in San Steph in July and so will see you then.

Andy
