The hill (Cardiac Hill) by the Juice bar, as Chris say's  - up to the top turn left past Akrotori Bar (you'll need a nice cold one by now!!), 100 metres down-hill to the path.
or:
Follow the road out past the tennis courts and Perros Hotel, around the double bend to "T"-junction - turn right -past all the villas',
(this is a touch longer but not such a steep incline), follow road  - it comes out right by the path to Arillas.
 

 You forgot to mention a long chilled one at Gravia to cool you down as you sit and admire the view..

Thanks to all for the advice, will certainly be giving it a go this year,as Yiannis pointed out we have now noticed some great ideas in the local walks section, trainers at the ready!

I really liked Gravia - love Kostas - he will be forever ' the sweet man' from Nafsika to me!

We walked up this way many times over the years, Yannis, but the other route is easier.

Walked up on Sunday and yes roots and stumps are a bit tricky. Wear decent walking sandals at least. I think walking down could be more of a problem as I think it could be a bit slippy at times. However, good to see that a solution has been found and the ambience at Akrotiri as good as ever not to mention the Corfu beer!
