Welcome to San Stefanos (NW Corfu) > Where to stay
Corfu in October
julied:
Hi everyone
Can anyone tell me why it is so much more expensive to fly from Manchester for a week in October than say Leeds or any
other airport.
October 5th from Manchester staying in the Tsaros £490. To fly from Leeds/Bradford £292
I am just giving this as an example as all other apartments are still a lot more expensive.
I havnt paid that for 2 weeks in August.
Jimbo:
You're right. I just stuck it in the Thomson web site.
Manchester: £490
Gatwick : £337
E/Midlands : £306
Leeds/B : £292
Doncaster : £274
Brum : £265
Next week it will all be different. Thomsons' prices are like a roulette wheel. Maybe it needs extra fuel to take off in the rain?

thought I would check last week of the season 19th October to see if this was more reasonable
I think the Tsaros must have closed for the season but the prices get more expensive
1 week Teresas flying from Manchester £631 flying from Leeds/Bradford £289 I cannot believe
this is more than double as the airports are only about 30 miles apart.
Maybe they are hoping no one will want to fly from Manchester so they can cancel the flight

Our holiday this year to the Nafsica same day was £250 more on the same day from Manchester than Birmingam although our taxi is £50 more to Birmingham than Manchester still a saving of £200 again for next year saved roughly same amount and better flight time from Birmingham luckily living in Sheffield have a good choice of airports just can't understand the huge differences in price. Also since I booked couple of weeks ago price is £140 more same holiday

We've been going to Agios Stefanos for the last 20+ years, last year did a long weekend towards the end of October - never again. Cold, wet, empty and mostly closed.
But we're all different, I'm sure there are those who like it that time of year.
