Welcome to San Stefanos (NW Corfu) > Where to stay

Corfu in October

<< < (8/11) > >>

CHRIS NO 2:
first time for us in October
if it rains at least it will be Corfu rain
will be nice to see the village winding down after a long season

rilo57:
i used to always go last week in september first week in october.Had great weather, and some bad.
But it allowed you to get out and about more on foot without being baked alive, and was cooler for the kids also.
Just enjoy, will be better than at home.

Jimbo:
It's significantly cooler now, with sometimes full cloud and sometimes patchy sun. The forecast are for increasing possibility of rain at the weekend.

Beach beds are vanishing daily. Many places will close on Friday, when there will be a mass exit from the village, with very few arrivals. Little Prince is closing on Friday, and Maria says she's closing on Saturday night or Sunday morning. Zorba is down to a few indoor or sheltered tables, and here at Nafsika meals have been inside since the high winds last week, but a small but cheerful band of hardy souls keeps the bar open until late. It looks like the population will be tiny next week.

"Patriccia" (sic) aka Kleopatra, who is the hairdresser in Avliotes and runs the evening bar at Nafsika, is doing "in your room" hair-dos, and has cut mine, reducing my usually ample beard to designer-stubble length, which wasn't quite what I had in mind. She justified it by saying that she didn't like beards!

So - life continues at a gentle pace. Nice.

It cooled down a lot for us too, it was 27c when with left Corfu and -1c when we got home :'(

I have had to scrap ice off the car every morning this week and now its raining again, I would return to the warm patchy sun in San Steph this weekend given half a chance!

Enjoy your last week.

Andy & Gill

Jimbo:
Not much sun around here now. Storm started at 2pm yesterday - lightning and rain - and was still going at 1am when we went to bed.

Cloudy morning with heavy rain forecast.

Little Prince closed yesterday morning, Silver Star closed, just about everything closing. Our little band at Nafsica feels like survivors of a shipwreck!
