Hi all ,  can anyone tell me if the gladiator bar is still up and running please , we found this little gem last year , was selling alpha i think in bottles and we found it a very relaxed place , reasonably priced and good fun .. 2 weeks saturday !!! cmon ....(bit gutted about Mythika closing )   .. yammas ..

The bar is still there, though the name has changed. Neither of us can remember what it's called, now! Think it starts with an "A"!
Still good, though and much more comfortable than previously.

I've just remembered! It"s called Acabar. Very good, friendly staff.

Is it still ran by the same people ? I,ts one of our favourites .our daughter picked it has hers four years due to the ball pit.Returning to san stef for our fourth visit in three weeks time,can.t wait !

It is now run by and english (or maybe welsh) girl called Leah. Im sorry to report that the kiddies ball pit / play area is not there anymore I think the previous owners took it away earlier in the season.

thanks all . now the kids are grown up gotta say dont think i,ll miss the ball pit .. might miss the cheap alpha beer  . haha . no doubt we will give it a try , along with , Silver Star , 3W. Athens ,Bar 38 , all of  our favourite tavernas , the famous Condor 1 or 2 nights for a laff , and many others along the way ... Love San Stef ,, just keeps you wanting to go back year in year out ... see ya soon !!

I didn't see a pinball machine the few times that we visited. Drinks were always brought to the table (outside) though so I didn't really venture inside.

didnt there used to be an Acabar the other end of the village sometime ... passed the olive press sort of way

Yes - I spoke to the girl who seems to run ACABAR - a couple of years ago it was operating in Pandora's just before the Golden Beach Hotel.

- As I said above - - - it used to be run in the old Pandora's Music Bar - which was originally opened and run by Stefanos and Athina.
They then opened the Condor and rented out the Pandora for a year to a guy who called himself "Moose", who just didn't do well there.

The Condor is a much bigger (but similar) version of Pandora's.
The Condor, which originally also had the back section (game machines and pool), closed off and run as a dedicated night-club.
This was sound-proofed with a separate DJ - Music was typical "clubby stuff" targeting the younger crowd. It ran for quite a few years,
until Stefanos closed it and opened up the area to extend Condor.

Acabar is a cross between Bar 38 as it was and a mini Condor.

cheers Tonyco .. found the gladiator to be great fun but cant for the life of me remember the fella who run it ,,, ? had some good nights in there , to be honest  you cant go wrong in so many of em .. lookin forward to saturday . believe the thunder is arriving monday ? we,ll see !!

I have seen many storms there over the years, but usually it's been at night - not often during the day.
