Returning "home" after a 3 yr break next year and I thought I would add my twopennyworth to my favs when we last went in 2011;
1 Two Star..for people on a budget.good wholesome food and really friendly hospitable staff it cannot be beat
2 Beachcomber..a personal fav of the wifes,special food and a great location for that special night out.
3 Yiannis Grill..not one I would have chosen but when we went due to Mythica being full,had a really great meal and thoroughly enjoyable evening

Finally 3 places I have not tried yet but will be catching up on next August
Ozzie Oils especially BBQ Night
Olympia..but only when there seems to be a few in there because it always looked empty when we used to pass and I love a good atmosphere when I eat
Fantasia..had a few sweets and late night drinks but never a full blown meal.
Hope this helps people still to go this tear...YOU LUCKY SO AND SO'S

Disappointed with the Olympia this year. Don't get me wrong the food was still very good but there was something else not quite right. Difficult to explain but my wife and sons felt the same.

Will give it a go next year though.

Know what you mean TB....... just lacked atmosphere. The very pretty girl seemed to have to make an effort to be nice. She was nice enough but I guess Im trying to say it didnt seem to come naturally.
The two staff waiting on looked bored to tears most nights we passed!

Agree fully Gavlah

The one waiter has a hangdog expression which doesn't lure you in. The young waitress was very pretty and tried really hard to be cheerful and nice but she must have been longing to get out of there.

Still food was v good as usual but I do like a bit of atmosphere - no I'm not Russ Abbot

My favourite is The Beachcomber, and loved Two Stars, hubby likes Manthos for the spicy prawns and mussels starter. Andres and Steven are a credit to the place.  Followed by Ozzy Oil which gets better every time. then the Mediterranean Village, the Chinese was good, we met Jimbo and the lovely Gilly there :) In fact everywhere was great.

Indeed Gav....been a few changes since this old thread kicked off...some great restaurants gone never to return...but of course some fine new eateries...not a dud amongst them! New favourites anyone?

What is good to see is the new places are being run by some of our favourite people from other restaurants and nobody seems to have suffered.
