Taking into account the loss of Mythica it looks as though we will have the same top three as last year. Would it be wrong to say that the front runners meet the overall needs of most people most often? How crucial is location within the village?

Still time to say a few nice things and vote for your favourites.

--- Quote from: Jimbo on March 11, 2013, 09:55:17 PM ---The trouble with all these league tables is that different people have different likes and dislikes, and it's not really a simple playing field.
For example, Ozzie Oils is obviously very popular, but we didn't like the place or the food much when we went. That's our perception.
I think it also depends a lot upon what you choose. Some places are better at cooking a specific item than others.
The bottom line is that it's hard to get a really bad meal in the village. That's one of the joys. We also have to balance food over atmosphere.
I think we should just say to new visitors, "Go and eat!" That kind of exploration is what holidays are about. The standard of food in Agios Stefanos is very high. Not cordone bleu - just good cooking with fresh meat and vegetables. In general, I'd call it "adjusted Greek." It's Greek food slightly modified to cater for visitors from various northerly regions.
No holiday for us would be complete without mussels at Beachcombers, day-fresh fish at Nafsika, and a mad evening at Little Prince.

Jimbo says it for me - except that we like Ozzie Oils a lot - and often people vote for places simply because they made friends there.
I enjoy all the establishments in San Stefanos for varying reasons and in varying dishes at each place, as Jim states above.
In the two weeks we will eat out in just about all of them, the call to choose three best is really just too close to call,
but I will join the fun and say the three that cooked our favourite dish last year, and just edged it by a paper thin margin.......
Fantasea
Beachcomber
Olympia

However - Nafsika, Waves, Ozzie Oils, Romanza, L-Prince - all come a joint 4th - - - it's a no brainer - eat anywhere - - all very good cooking.....
