I've tried to get photos downloaded with Imageshack but have had no success and I'm not prepared to pay for the privilege. So I guess I won't be posting any pics :(

Imageshack is free, no need to pay for the upgraded versions.
Are the images you are trying to upload 5mb or less? Right click on the image and select 'properties' and look at the image size. If the image is larger than 5mb you will need to resize them.
