I also have never seen anything hostile, including sea urchins, in AS.

Best thing for sea-urchins is urine. Pee in a carrier bag and immerse foot. It's a kind of social thing, because you can get everybody to contribute!

Trust Jimbo to lower the tone ;D

Still no sign of sunbeds on he beach!

You do despair of the Greek authorities sometimes, all that lost income for San Steph locals, the weather has been so good recently that the beach would have been very popular. San Steph is busy from this weekend onwards (the little prince is full) yet no one can sunbathe on the beach.

Anyone going to San Steph this week for its famous beach will be very disappointed and may never return, in these hard times when Greece needs every Euro it really isn't good enough :-[

We go on Tuesday, and the lack of sunbeds doesn't bother us as not really beach folk. Maybe Manthos has got his free ones (if you buy a drink) at the bottom of his garden.  :)

It's looking like real progress has been made at the Manthos end of the beach, not so much the Havana end, can anyone confirm? Still no sign of the sunbeds?

We go next Friday and to be honest the lack of sunbeds does bother us. we would spend some time on the beach and have no problem with paying the cost for four sunbeds. we're taking my in-laws who will struggle without. I might drop Cerys a line and see if they know anything, else although I know Thomsons aren't responsible I will ask them.

Same with me. We'll have a toddler in tow so the beach will be central to our daytime activities, it's not quite as simple as just sitting on towels when little 'uns are involved.

When we went in June 2011 it was the second week so 13th June before all the sunbeds appeared there was just a few put out by Waves that were free think to encourage customers which it did and we were very grateful as I had just had surgery and was unable to have laid on the beach which I love

Last year the beach was full every day from 20th May onwards. By not having the sunbeds out there is literally thousands of euros not making the way into the local economy.

It seems crazy IF its a licensing issue, surely licenses etc should be organised during the winter months?

Hopefully for all the beach lovers the sunbeds make an appearance before the half term break next week.

Costas will be up the far end near the Havana bar.
Free ones are down there at the moment outside Mistral, Manthos, Waves, Athina, and Delfino Blu until May 27 official blast off.
