Last time we were in San Stefanos on our last day there we went for a walk - set out to find Arillas but obviously when the wrong way (it was an impulse thing and we never thought to ask for directions)!!!! We ended up on quite a pleasant but long walk, passing a factory that, if I remember rightly, was an olive oil factory (might be wrong on this) and we ended up in a little place that was like walking back in to history. We stopped off at a little restaurant that had grape vines hanging down throughout the outside area and a beautiful view of a valley. Nikos, the young waiter from Thomas Bay, stopped (we were staying at Thomas Bay and he just happened to be passing on his motorbike) and said it was his uncle's place and he sat and had a drink with us before we set off walking back. We never really knew where we had been or what the place was called (Nikos did tell us at the time but it went a bit over our heads so to speak we were already upset as we were to be picked up for home later that day) but it was very pleasant, a long walk through the Greek countryside but very enjoyable. And sad to see so many abandoned properties scattered around though.
Now since I have been reading this site I am wondering if this was Aviolotes (spelling sorry) where we walked to and if anyone can clear this up please. The restaurant we went to was very nice as was the snack we had there.
