Barolo restaurant
« on: July 03, 2019, 07:40:57 PM »
Has anyone eaten at the new Barolo restaurant yet and, if so, what did you think?
Am I correct in assuming it's taken over the former Ozzy Oils premises? The reviews on Tripadvisor ( currently twelve in total) are very favourable.
The overriding opinion of most reviewers seems to be that it's above average price but very good and well presented food with excellent service.
Perhaps a little less rustic than most of the competition! :)

Went twice in June, fabulous service and food, a little more expensive than others, but in our opinion, well worth it.

Went here last Friday  Very windy night but we sat outside (my wife was even offered a shawl if needed)Thoroughly  enjoyed the whole experience. One Euro  cover charge included delicious bread rolls and  tapenade, olive oil, garlic butter much better than standard bread & butter. Service excellent as was the food. Ok the drinks were a little on the pricey side but would not hesitate to return.

The boy has done well!  :)

1st got to know Aris when he started working as the breakfast waiter in the Nafsika 10 years or so back and always looked out for him when he worked in the Beachcomber restaurant.

So pleased for him and another restaurant to add to the list. Looking forward to trying Barolo next year.

My wife and i ate at the Barolo last night. The food was first class and Aristidis - Aris- is an absolute star. We will be going back.

Many thanks for the update. Highly rated wine by some - Italian, was the menu Italian, Greek or mixed?

A very good question. I have looked at so many menus since then, they have a tendency to blur! The dishes we each had were Greek, or Greek inspired. We can obtain Italian relatively easily back home in NZ so we try and stick to Greek cuisine here if we can.
