Fisherman George ;(

(1/3) > >>

Silverstar:
Hi

I had word this from friends in village that fisherman George is very very ill and is not expected to make it :(

We heard thet he was detriorating when we were over in August and we sent some fruit and old pictures of us all (with him in) up to him to let him know we were thinking of him.

We struggled to get a straight answer on his illness but allowing for translation, we understood its a motot neurone type condition.

He is only a similiar age to me and one of the sweetest and nicest men Ive had the pleasure to know.

It is in Gods hands now but I for one am praying for a miracle.

xx

D@G:
Such a terrible disease.

I recently lost a close friend to motor neurone disease, at the age of 32 after a 3 year battle. A terrible way to go, and such a sad loss!

I don't know George but wish him, and his family,  all the best!

Silverstar:
Received word from Spiros (bikes) this morning that George has died.

He was only the same age as me (40) so very sad indeed.

I will always remember him for his wide dazzling smile and mop of sandy hair - such a handsome young man.

RIP George.
xx

hippopots:
Sad news Silverstar.
Didn't meet George (he was I believe already poorly when we arrived in the village last year), but heard people talk of him.

Lesley:
George a true San Stefanos guy known as fisherman George, he had until a few years ago the Mistral Taverna on the beach.  Very sad news R.I.P George he is now in the best place after what can only have been a painful journey with his illness.  Just 42 years old. The funeral is tomorrow Thursday in Avliotes at 5pm.    It is a sad day  :'(
