Bar 38 and Acabar were very quiet when we were there in July. Hope business has picked up for them now it's the school holidays.

Next year will be our first time in the school holidays. Be interesting to see how the resort differs from late June when we have traditionally visited!

YAY, today we had the long awaited thunderstorm!

It's been so humid for such a long time, it had to come eventually. Started to go a little cloudy around Midday, then there was just a few spots of rain. Kasia and Noula at Athens Bar hurriedly gathered up their seating cushions, and said there would be a thunderstorm soon. Not 5 minutes later there was a huge clap of thunder followed by around half hour of good ole Corfu torrential downpour. I've got to say it was absolute bliss, as the air temperature dropped to a much cooler level for a while, and everything felt freshened.

And, fortunately  these storms don't usually last, and within an hour of it stopping the sun was out, the temperature rose, and all was perfect again for anyone on holiday!

Gav, we've been twice to SS in the late May school holiday week.  Have to say, it was a lot quieter than when we went in early September (our first time).  The weather wasn't as warm and the sea was cooler!  We'd decided against going in the July/Aug period due to the 35+ temperature.  Restaurants were all open as normal though and it still had that special feeling, just a little more subdued - bit like we all are when we first wake up!

We always used to go for 2 weeks in August coming home on the bank holiday. Now Nath has left school and is at Uni we can go later - arrive for 2 weeks on the bank holiday and I must say we prefer it as slightly cooler and a little quieter around the pools ha!

Hot day again today, with the clouds starting to gather around 5pm. It got quite dark, and looked like it was going to rain again like yesterday, but it stayed dry, but with a little bit of rumbling thunder a distance away....no loud thunderclaps to make us all jump today!

The electricity board were back, fixing cables around by the Juice Bar, so probably trying to fix whatever caused the blackout in the old village a couple of nights ago.

I drove down the hill past Tereza's this evening, they were packed out for their ever popular Greek night. Judging by the number of people there, it should be a good atmosphere.

And, congratulations to Glenn and Maria, of Aquarius Bar, as today is their 10th anniversary of opening their bar!  :D

Another lovely sunny and hot day today, but I am happy to say the humidity has dropped, so it's a much more comfortable heat, and this evening is a lovely temperature, perfect for sitting outside tavernas and bars!

Lots of tavernas busy tonight, including Zorbas, Brusko, and Olympia, with plenty of people also sat out on the terrace of Beachcombers.

Also, plenty of live music to choose from tonight, including Freddie Mercury tribute at Condor, Robbie Williams Tribute at Acabar, JJ Jupiter at Athens Bar, and an acoustic guitarist/singer in El Greco.

Yes agree teamnikos, JJ Jupiter has taken up the baton from Keith Mitchell as the regular acoustic guitar act and is doing a great job!

A pretty cloudy start to the day almost looked like the threat of rain was coming, but it didn't take long for it to burn off, leaving us with another glorious San Stef day  8)

It looks like a lot of people are heading out to do some exploring at the mo, both Spiros bike, and Pegasus have virtually empty forecourts! Mind you, a quad, buggy or scooter is a great way to explore the local area, without having to walk too far in this heat!

Hot and sunny again, and plenty of people already down on the beach by 10am this morning! Mind you, the sea did look very enticing....

Lots of various nationalities here too, we've had customers from most of Europe during the last week, including Germans, Swiss, French, Italian, Scandanavian, Dutch, ad Czech!

Tonight is Chilly Chilli's regular Saturday night buffet night, which sounds nice, especially if accommpanied by a nice sunset shimmering off the water!

Looking at the webcam today I don't think I've ever seen so many cars on the beach,I hope the visitors are spending their money in the tavenas.

We are booked for 4th August next year. 17 nights which will cover McKenzies bday!!
It will certainly be different from the peace of late June that's for sure.
Anyway before then we are back 2 weeks tomorrow for a very cheeky week!
