Yay we are back on line with our own internet  ;D

Met CHRIS NO2 today, as he and his wife just arrived today, and have gorious sunny weather.

Lots of people opening this weekend, including, I believe, Beachcombers, and Yianni's gyros has just put his sign out to say opening on Friday.
We're all getting there....nearly all ready for summer 2014!!  8)

Today sees a slightly overcast day, but when the sun breaks through it is HOT!
We're all waiting for the clouds to disappear for the summer, and hopefully they will oblige soon.
The village has really come alive now...scooters and quads all out at Spiros and Pegasus, all the supermarkets are open, and all signage, and tables and chairs are out at Mediterranean Village, Zorbas, Barras, El Greco, Silver Star, Two Stars, Little Prince, Kamini Bar, Silver Moon, and Yiannis, plus Town Pizza, Tasty Corner, and Manthos are now open.
Summer Dreams were doing a big cutting back of their pam trees this morning, so will probably soon be open too.

Lots of vehicles coming and going, delivering all the goodies required for the openings that will be happening tomorrow!

This afternoon saw the May Day party at the Arillas brewery, just at the top of the hill between the 2 villages. A little bit of a practice run for the main beer festival to be held in October, it was a nice afternoon, with souvlaki and sausage at 1.50euro each, plus FREE BEER! Add to that a local (ex-pat) band to listen to, and a good time was being had by the nice mix of Greeks, Brits, Germans etc that were there. We really should have been doing the last minute finishing touches to our shop, but hey, it was our last day off til October!

Yay, summer has started  8)

A lovely sunny day, perfect for the arrival of the first UK tour operator guests.

New faces began appearing in the village around lunchtime, (the people who did their own transfers), followed by the arrival of the first coaches around mid afternoon.
Many hotels welcomed their first guests of the season today.

Alot of us have been doing our last few jobs this morning, to be all ready for arrivals.
Others will be open I am sure within the next few days

Yiannis Gyros welcomed some regulars tonight, and there were a number of people enjoying the rays of the evening sun on the front terrace of Thomas Bay.

Oh dear, I spoke too soon about summer arriving.....today has unfortunately been a wet one :-[
Unusual for May, but hopefully won't last too long!
There were quite a few people braving the weather this morning, but by this evening it was a little quieter after a downpour at about 5pm.
But there were still people enjoying a drink in Barras, and the first customers for Beachcombers for 2014 were already seated just 10 minutes after their opening tonight.
Disappointing weather for everyone today, but there is still plenty of good food, good beer, and friendly welcomes here in San Stef come rain or shine  ;)

Well, as one first time visitor to San Stef remarked to us today...it's been 4 seasons in 1 day!
The morning started off quite bright, and warmer than yesterday.  :)
Lunchtime/early afternoon saw thunder, lightening, and amazingly heavy rain.  :o
After this the sky cleared, the sun came out, and it was lovely.  8)
Followed by unfortunately more rain tonight, and a drop in temperature  :(

Hopefully the weather will improve soon. In the meantime nearly all shops are now open, so lots of nice things to browse at when the weathers not at its best.
As you work your way round the village there is the olive wood shop on the road in from Arillas, then on towards the beach where you'll find Vasia, Terezas, Pele & Maria, and Taste of Life gift shops, before you reach Crystal Daisy gifts, and Perdita Glass by the beach.
Come along past Thomas Bay, and you have a choice of Elizabeth jewellery and bags, Hippopots ceramics, more jewellery at Sparkles, next to Glass slipper gifts. Include the 4 supermarkets, and theres plenty of shopping to keep you occupied on the not so beachy days

Went to Kassipoi for lunch yesterday and it was bright and warm with not a drop of rain, got back to the Romanza which had been lashed by a hail storm at lunchtime, crazy weather!

Horray sunshine today 8)
A little breezy, which means the air temperature is a little cooler, and the waves are rolling in on the beach....but no rain!

Just about everywhere is now open, and more people have been arriving today, so the village is coming alive for the season.
We've met quite a number of 1st time visitors over the last few days, all of which have said how they are really liking it here, which is great. Think the number of regulars may increase if their comments are anything to go by.

A gloriously sunny day today, so lots of happy people walking around! Hopefully the weather has now changed to summer for the next 5 months.

Shane opened zest for life for it's first day of the season today, and Acabar were cleaning all their furniture, so probably won't be far behind.

It's still a little cool in the evenings, so if you're coming soon, it may be an idea to bring something to keep a little warmer when going out at night, but it won't be too long before the nights will be lovely and warm, and the sound of crickets fills the air.
