So - we've had our last few days and landed back in Blighty.
On Friday we walked over to Arillas and went to the last-but-one taverna on the right as you go down the beach, which is the widest I've ever seen in the village in nine years. I had the best moussaka I have had since Sparta about 15 years ago. Maria (paper shop) said it's very good but the best in Agios Stefanos is at Olympia. If, God willing, we are in the village next year, we'll try it.
A bit of north-westerly wind was whipping up the white-caps out towards the islands, so, after a lovely day on the beach by Mistral on Saturday we retired to the Nafsika pool on Sunday, where I wrote a good chunk of my new novel, and we went back in the evening for the Greek night. Despite a cool breeze this was very good fun. Two-piece band (bouzouki and keys) and a tall, good-looking male dancer, accompanied by an utterly gorgeous woman. Lot's of dancing instruction and audience participation. I'll still never remember the sirtaki steps.
Monday pick-up time was about 5pm, so having checked out we went to Nafsika pool again, where I carried on writing. There came a point where I realised that writing an extremely erotic scene in the warmth beside a swimming pool is not necessarily a good idea! Swimming saved the day :-)
And so, back to Little Prince for the bus to the airport. I will comment on that in the Airport thread.
We had three weeks of wonderful weather, and one of the best holidays we've had for a while. I'm usually bored after a couple of weeks, but not this time, and I would have happily stayed for many more.
