We have sprinklers for the grass via a pump from the well, but when the well is almost dry, errrmmm  no other options..  apart from expensive water via the meter...

Watered runner beans this morning - then the heavens opened and it's been raining ever since! Wish we could send it down south, while you were all flooded out earlier in the year we had one of the driest winter and springs I can remember! Oh well, no gardening for me this afternoon. Here is Hull by the way!

Woke up this morning around 6am, and it was quite gloomy and overcast...uh oh I thought, but by the time I woke up again at 9am (it's the late nights you know!), the sun was once again blazing down!

Lots of new faces today, and some familiar ones too, which is nice.
Met Mary today for the first time, with her friend, I'm so sorry, but I've forgotten your name!!! :-\  They are looking forward to 2 lovely girly holiday weeks in the sun.

This evening there were lots of people around, some with Greece shirts on, showing their support for our fab Greek friends.
The bars are all showing the match tonight....if Greece win I think it may be a little noisy later on!!
We are heading to Afionas, to watch the match with our Greek friends at The Night Owl. We are dropping off some wine jugs we've painted for them, so we don't need too much of an excuse to stop for a beer and cheer on Greece!

Wish I'd been there tonight. Greece playing attacking football????? Not seen since the Trojan Wars.

The odd thing is - I was far more nervous tonight watching Greece than I was watching England. Defending 1-0 is never easy. Greece were in, and then they were out at 1-1. The minutes were ticking over. I could hardly bear to watch the penalty, but superb take by Samaras. And before that, some terrific shots hitting the crossbar. Wow.

If they play like they did tonight they could make it to the semi-finals.

Well, watching the football last night was fab. We weren't in the village, but up in Afionas with friends. It was especially fun watching their very enthusiastic 12 yr old son literally jumping for joy when they won!
We got back into San Stef at around 2am, and there were people still in El Greco, and of course Athens Bar...to be fair I'm surprised we didn't hear Jimmy's cheering from Afionas! Plus a few people getting their gyros fix at Lubrano's, Tasty Corner, and Yiannis.

So, today was scorching this morning. This afternoon on the beach there was a slight but very welcome breeze. Good news...the sunbeds are now out by Havana Bar, so lots of lovely comfy sunbeds for everyone!

It was slightly hazy this evening, making for an unusual sunset, not the intense colours we normally get, but beautiful with the haze over the sea.
