I'm was and am talking about taking Euros. We have plenty of Euros bought at the highest available rate. If you can get over 1.2 on your card in the summer I'll buy you supper!
Used my "no commission/no foreign loading fee credit card" for the first time on Saturday evening (5th July) at Zorbas. The statement showed up at my online banking today.
Zorbas bill = 28.22 euros, bank statement = £22.22
28.22 divided by 22.22 = 1.2601 (credit card exchange rate)
Proof, of course, will be provided.
Best exchange in village at present is 1.24 minus 2% commission = 1.215
TravelFx today = 1.24
So Jimbo, Knowing you're no cheapskate, I've provisionally booked for my free supper from Manthos, a nice big lobster.
It's no good using your new super Halifax Clarity credit card as he doesn't accept them, however it's great for all the tavernas etc that do.
