New Road

Hi Everyone,
Can anyone tell me if the new road to San Stefanos is open?
If so is it being used by the  package holiday companies transfer coaches and does it shorten the journey?

Unless things have changed this year Thomson have recently come via Arillas, and not Sidari. Hurray.

Yes. No stopping until Arillas.

The new road does not appear to be officially open but is being used by many! We were along on ths coach trip to Corfu Town on Wednesday, there is a rough unfinished stretch of around 100 metres which is passable with care. There didn't appear to be any work being carried out.

When I mentioned hair raising I meant the 'old' route..... I remember having nightmares about the coach going over the edge !!!

Although the road isn't officially open everyone including the coaches are using it, I went on it several times in May and its great saving at least 10-15 on the journey time from Sidari without the nightmare of going through Aviliotis.

Some work has started on the unfinished section in the last few days, maybe, just maybe, it will all be finished soon!
