Just back from a 2 week stay, thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and gutted to be home as always, some reviews and pics below.
First week we stayed at the
Perros. Great family run hotel, we have stayed before so knew what to expect and it did not disappoint. Stefanos, Nicola, Anna, Eleni and the gang really do go out of the way to make your stay a pleasant one. A great atmosphere around the pool in the daytime and in the bar in the evenings. 10/10
For our second week we moved next door to the
Jasmine. Our first time staying here and we were very happy with our choice. A great price for a 2 bed apartment for the week, cleaned daily and a good bar and pool area. Quite quiet as unfortunately Spiros had a few last minute cancellations but it was filling up again just as we were leaving. Would be happy to stay here again if the Perros was full on our dates.
We ate out for lunch and dinner daily, few reviews below. I realise that everyone has different preferences so don’t be offended if I didn’t think much of your favourite place or loved your least favourite place.
Waves (2 x lunch 2 x Dinners) Love it here and have never had a bad meal. Seafood spaghetti is superb and had the fresh sea bream too, very tasty. 9/10
2 Stars (1 x Dinner) Decent meal without being outstanding. Good value though with a free drink and desert to finish. 7/10
Zorbas (1 x Dinner) Good meal and obviously good entertainment. Had the Kleftiko and it was really tasty and a good size, very busy as always too, daughter loves the dancing and fire table. 8/10
Fantasea (1 x Dinner) Food very good, was very busy on the night we ate here, Kostas actually had to turn a few tables away which he obviously hated doing. Beef Stifado was probably the best ive had. Service was a bit slow due to being so busy which was only a problem because my daughter was so hungry otherwise no problem. 8/10
Nafsika (1 x Dinner) Probably our least favourite meal of the trip which is a shame as has always been a favourite. We were slightly overlooked in favour of a nearby table of Italians and had to constantly try to grab the waiters attention for drinks/desert menu/bill etc. Spetsofai starter was also cold and lamb chops were tiny (unlike in previous years when they were huge) 5/10
Yiannis Grill (Opposite Athens Bar) (1 x Dinner) Excellent value and very tasty. Daughter loved the chicken Souvlaki and would have ate them every day given the chance, Gyros very nice. 8/10
Little Prince (1 x Dinner) Very good and better than in previous years. Had the Spetsofai / lamb chops special and for 9 Euro with a desert you can’t beat that for value. Great entertainment for the little ones as usual. 8/10
Manthos (1 x Dinner) A bit different to all the rest is Manthos!! Had the red snapper and it was possibly the best fish dish of the week, spicy prawns and mussels to start was very good too. 9/10
Brouklis Arillas (1 x dinner) First time we have tried here and it was hands down the best meal of the week. Very simple menu but all cooked so well and all so tasty. The fried courgettes were 10/10 as was the lamb on a spit main. I could also eat the greek yogurt and honey for a week and still not have had enough! Book though, it gets busy. 10/10
Barras (2 x dinners) Very good meals. Love the Kleftiko here which is what drags us back. Good value and George and co are a great family. 8/10
Olympia (1 x Dinner) We ate out with friends one night but we were hesitant as they turned us away without reason a few years ago. Food was very good all around and no complaints at all, stifado was again superb. We had 4 kids with us this year too and they were very good with them. 8/10
Romanza (1 x dinner) Very good food. I made a mistake when ordering which spoiled my meal slightly but it was entirely my fault. Andreas is a great guy and really looks after you. Wanted to get there for the BBQ but wasn’t to be. 8/10
We also hired a car from
Tsaros and would definitely recommend, great service.
Had lunches at various places that I haven’t mentioned although loved sitting at
Tasty Corner for a quick gyros or beer.
Our daughter also painted 2 items at
Hippopots, a snail and a small pot and she really enjoyed it, saying it was her favourite part of the holiday!
