Gavlah1973:
Jumbo is correct. It's a great Zorbas dish. Not too far removed a traditional north African lamb tagine recipe
Jimbo:
Excellent description. Rich gravy with chunks of lamb and a hint of cinnamon and allspice, plus the tiny explosions of fruity apricot, served with vegetables of your choice or rice. Adequately generous portions for those with capacious stomachs, especially washed down with a jug of house wine, but also subtle and packed with flavour. Not - perhaps - for those who wish to perform energetic Greek dancing, but fortunately most of us leave it to the waiters. Pavlos is one of the best dancers in Agios Stefanos, and watching him run, jump and kick, beaded with perspiration, is, I find, a perfect aid to digestion. Those of a fuller figure may later regret the generosity of the portions when they do the morning-after tape-measure test, but they will not rue the hints of Mediterranean taste-splendour that hang in the mind for years after experiencing this flavoursome and indulgent treat. Have a swim and a light lunch, then head to Zorbas and gorge on the food that fueled Odysseus before he set sail.

P.S. Please send this to Pavlos and I may get a free one.

I have eaten this gastromic delight in Waves,so it must be a traditional dish and not just confined to one restaurant.
