Rubbish

<< < (2/3) > >>

Sellsy:
Whatever the reason, perhaps Greek economy,  severe local taxation and related impact upon the town council systems ? ....it was sad to see. Some ad hoc storage areas were on the verge of a health hazard. We took 6 first timers last year who naturally commented on the situation. Glad to say they are all returning this year as they could understand it was bejond the locals immediate control. I wonder if some first time visitors  may have left with a less positive impression and understanding? Fingers crossed it all runs smoothly this year.

Jimbo:
I think that basically it was a lack of planning. The old quarry that was the landfill reached its limit but there wasn't anything in place to carry on.

The impression was not good - but it was an island-wide thing. Full marks to the Agios Stefanos people for being proactive and hiring some workmen to shift the rubbish to a more discreet place.

eildan:
Just reading old posts about the rubbish situation, unfortunately it is as bad as last year.lots of people complaining, a lot of people will be put of coming.

Karen:
Rubbish gone, don't know where, but all good :) Had spoken to a few locals and they were trying to sort it out, looks like they have, thanks to them all. :) :)

Teamnickos:
That's really good to hear
