San Stef Beach

Tredegar Boy:
wet wet wet here in Wales (no surprise there). Trying to get work done in the garden before the winter sets in but the ground is sodden. Missing sunshine wherever I could get it. 8)

Jimbo:
Weather a bit cloudy today - still getting up to 79F. Time for a walk up to Akrotiri...

swedebasher:
Another thunderstorm wasn't there??

Jimbo:
It was not predicted. It was one of those "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition" moments. We sat outside in the sun at Akrotiri for a while having a beer and doing a crossword. We went into the shade for lunch. The the sky darkened a wind started blowing. Niko and Niko were dashing about collecting cushions from outside. A great darkness moved towards us from Mathraki.

We decided to make a run for it, to try to beat the rain. We went the way we came: the steep road and path that goes straight up from Nafsika. You  have to be careful going down not to get overtaken by gravity. The wind was gusting severely, and nearly blew me over. As we were in sight of Nafsika the rain started - quite light at first, but getting heavy as we ducked inside, where Aki, Giorgos and Spiros were grabbing stuff into shelter. It poured for about an hour. Went for a kip, and by now, at 7 pm I'm sitting in the bar downing a vino and beginning to look forward to another fabulous Nafsika meal.

So the days pass!

WINKIE:
Loungers on the beach at Waves, Havana and Mango today  8). Fingers crossed the beach gets back to near as normal soon.
