Yes we missed the laundrette last year so I hope they stay open for our three weeks-not 4 as planned thanks to Tui but no matter we had £706 refund for the trouble.

Great, friendly, service at the laundry and they rely on the Brits for a good deal of their income.  Nice to pack the luggage and not have a big pile of washing to deal with on return!

The amount of bureaucracy involved in getting away this year rivals Yes Minister.

By far the stupidest is the UK entry PLF system. I followed the advice earlier seen to do it and save it in advance, ready just to post within 48 hours of return. BUT, when I had got as far as possible, the kindly government informed me that it would only last 8 days after which I would have to do it again. Great! I will now rest content with having a log-in, and hope the internet is working in the village. The Greek PLF was easy, logical and swiftly done and acknowledged.

In what way will my return details change? I'm coming from the same place to the same place. I could do that in advance, print it, and answer the question "Have your details changed?" on entry.

Oh for the days when you could turn up at the airport with a passport and a ticket. Even TUI's previously excellent Print Your Boarding Pass system had changed to 48 hours before departure. When I was flying for work I used just to go to the airport with my passport. My ticket, booked by somebody else, was waiting at the Customer Service desk.

These days you need a holiday just from the effort of arranging one!

Well we are off tomorrow and hopefully all my necessary forms have been filled in accurately and have been both printed and saved to screen shot format.
Only one company is being accepted by the  Welsh authorities and it is booked, though I hear that testing my no longer be required from next month.

My main moan is the stuff that's pointless. Like the fact that a vaccination pass's barcode times out after 30 days; am I mysteriously going to become unvaccinated after a month? Like the fact that it says it's a 2D barcode; I have yet to see a 1 or 3 dimensional barcode, oh, but come to think of it, the expiry time-out actually makes it a 3-D barcode, because it has two spatial and one temporal dimension.

See you in the Princess Bar, Maggie.

The extra form filling took me less than 120 minutes total and cost £167 in extra tests etc for my family of 4 this year.

Worth every second and £ extra to get our 3 weeks away and the locals were over the moon to have us back.

I agree completely. But the testing is pointless and the paperwork could be cut down.

I did in Cyprus l last year as that's what Gov.UK said, which did surprise me at the time. In hindsight I don't think it was needed as nobody asked to see it.
When God created Wales he was just showing off
