My sister is a teacher and she says a lot of parents think it is the schools job to bring their children up....that includes potty training, manners, morals.... :o

No Barbara, you are not an old frat.  You have morals and standards that a lot of today's youth (not all) will not tolerate.  In other words they are brought up as selfish brats.  My wife works in schools and says the parents of today (not all) are pathetic.  My wife's main gripe is that the parents want to be their child's best friend/mate. "No she says, be their mam and dad".
I also work in a school and Rod you are quite right.
I think people (adults children and young people) dont do as they are told anymore, I was as much of a pain as anyone else when I was a teenager but I wouldnt have dared be cheeky to a teacher, headteacher, police officer etc.  I would have been terrified of my mum finding out and bursting me !!#

I agree.  Rules were rules and I suppose because we respected our parents we also respected anyone in authority.  I am not saying we were angels but there definitely was a line you didn't cross whether we liked it or not.

Looking more and more likely that Greece will be next to be sublet to quarantine.
The annoying this is that we have been at work throughout the pandemic so if we have to quarantine for 2 weeks after our holiday we lose 2 weeks pay. Whereas , the day the lockdown started , around half our workforce suddenly remembered they were "at risk", went home, did nothing for around 10 weeks, got a laptop from work and now work from home, so if they had to quarantine they can still work from home and won't lose pay! And yes I know some DO have underlying health conditions putting them at risk, but at least one has never mentioned any illness prior to him heading out the door!

Thanks for letting me rant!

Aaw Hobbes. I understand what you mean from your working situation. I fear you may be right about the quarantine, watch this space, I guess....

The restrictions won’t bother us we will be glad just to get there.
We have stuck to the rules all through but as has been  said we are of an age when we DID obey rules,it was how we were realised and I am pleased to say my son and grandchildren are the same.

Due to fly on 28th with TUI, can’t check in now until 24hours before each flight. Makes sense I suppose as things changing so quickly and some people who are able to go now might not be able to go then. Just changes we are not used to yet but guess it’s the new norm. 😷😎
