I doubt in the current climate you can hedge your bets too much. Take a lot of Euro and pounds with a card back-up!

It looks like airport congestion is nothing compared to the crush on the gangplank as various rodents try to escape the sinking ship of the Johnson administration, so I don't see much chance of the pound-euro ratio getting any better. Probably wise to grab some euros while they're going.

The Post Office rate is currently 1.1484 (for orders of £1000+) if you order online.  I always use the post office or John Lewis they usually have good rates :-)
6 weeks to go  ;D ;D ;D

The resignation has bolstered the pound v the euro, I’ve taken the plunge and purchased. Currently 1.171 on TravelFx, I have used them several times without any issues, free special delivery on orders over £700 and no charge if paying by bank transfer.

They have now added an option for card payment too for a small fee.

Thinking of getting a Hays Travel card that you load Euros on to. Always just taken cash before but thought it might be safer not carrying loads of cash. Are all the restaurants and shops in San Stef geared up for these loaded money cards and accept them OK? Apparently there's a fee charged every time you take money out an ATM with the cards so would be pointless using it to just get cash out.

Diane, you can bring 200 back per person. They’re about half the UK price. I always get them from Peli & Maria’s as they have a good selection and will order them in if they haven’t got the brand you want. Don’t rely on the airport as there’s not much choice- and don’t buy them on the plane-silly prices!

I can support that. In the pre-Brexit days you could bring as many as you liked for personal use. Bummer.
