Boat trips
« on: April 19, 2009, 10:58:40 PM »
In SS aare there opportunities to go on boat trips to different islands?
Greek boat people are trying to keep winter prices as there has been a dip in holiday makers.
This apparently could save up to 50%

Thanks

Yes - did it in 2010 when we were last in SS.
Usually get about 3 to 4 hours in Paleo i think.

We liked it mainly for the chance to get out on the sea for a couple of hours and see the West coast of Corfu from the sea.

That makes sense. Like Noynoy - (noo-noo) evaporated milk. Really need to see the names written in Greek!

has anyone done the trip to Parga - I long to go there and thought a trip would be a good introduction but not sure if you actually get to stay there for long enough as go to Paxos too?

I'd be really interested in hearing info about the Parga and Paxos trip too! Hoping to book that one with SS Travel. I've never been to SS before but have a feeling I'm gonna love it! Can't wait, 15 weeks, 6 days and counting!  :D

Hi all, here is the link to San Stefano Travel's boat trips http://san-stefano.gr/trips_boat.php. All the trips will be running this year however we are yet to update the website for our 2012 itinerary so there might be a slight change in the days. Alternatively you can hire your own boat and seek out the North West coast line at your own leisure http://san-stefano.gr/boat_hire.php

Hello. We did the Parga-Paxos trip two years ago. It was a long day travelling by bus to Corfu town harbour and then taking the ferry to the seas, so I wouldn´t recommend it for families with small children.  My kids were 8 and 13 at then and they loved the trip. We sailed to Gaios, the "capital" of Paxos first. We had some two hours there and had a lovely lunch near the market hall. The weather was much hotter than in SS, but I still would have liked to stay there forever. What a lovely, lazy atmosphere... After Paxos we headed towards Antipaxos crystal clear waters. It was possible to go swimming there if you wanted. Again, some amazing views. Parga was the last stop on our trip. Parga is very popular among Finnish tourists, but in my opinion can never beat Corfu and SS  8) We had an expensive and delicious lunch there, the marina area was very busy around noon. Probably the best part of this trip was the voyage back to Kerkira harbour; is sat on the front of the boat with my son and we saw dolphins and some colourful fish next to the boat and heard the sea breeze in ou ears.. Yes, I would recommend this day trip. The only drawback was the rough sea between Antipaxos and Parga, if you are going be sure the take some medication (perhaps not ouzo..)

Excuse me my bad English, but feel free to ask further questions..
