My question is on frogs ???

I read on another forum that frogs are a big problem at night making lots of noise has anybody had any experience of this? I don't mind most creatures but frogs do have a tendancy to make me jump (no punn intended)

Frogs are noisy and in good voice again this year. Thomas Bay is right next door but don't know how much you hear in rooms. You do get to ignore the noise pretty quickly though. Sat just down the road yesterday for a beer and they became background noise. Maybe that was the beer.

I think the noise is only during the mating season as when we have been we have never seen or heard any frogs . We always go end August / beginning September.

Jules - The Mating Season for me is all year!! LOL!!  :o ::) :-* ;D ;)

MissH - We went in May and also June, Last year in the Thomas Bay in the front ground level Apt. closest to the stream,
the previous year in the Barras, again our Apt backed on to the Stream.
I actually managed to get a picture of two frogs mating,  now we throw darts at the picture!! LOL
Yes they were "at it" - "a bit like Jules and Roy", (ever heard Lassie howl?),
and boy were they (the frogs - not Jules), in good voice when we were there,
but quite honestly, as said above by Gordon, it became background noise and caused no problem to our rest at night.
This is also the noisest part of town if you like, so while the Silver Bar on the Corner has it's "Jim Bowen" Look-a-like crooner,
belting out his dreadful monotone din until about 00:30 in the morning on most nights,
 - do not worry about the frogs - you won't hear them!! LOL!!!
Seriously though - it is not bad enough to ruin your stay!! They are hard to spot - but fun to watch!!
