--- Quote from: Zimmer on June 06, 2009, 08:33:47 PM ---I have a great CD of a Greek band live concert, passed to me by a guy from Rhodes, containing a great Greek version of "All along the Watchtower" One of my happiest Greek music memories was listening to band up in the mountains play Springsteens "Dancin' in the dark" and Pet Shop Boys " run the world",dark night lots of wine ...

I can see us talking music, music, music and yet more music. Listened to Wolfgangs vault last night. A great concert by the Staples Singers from 18/04/1968. Tracks include knock out version of the Stills classic - For What It's Worth. Great version of Stand By Me and wait for it.... A Hard Rains A Gonna Fall!!!

Zimmer, stick to the greek nights and the live music at Sunset, or you may be disappointed!!

You think then that the entertainment has gone very commercialised and caters for a wider audience? ah well , not a lot I can do about that,it wont bother me too much after a few drinks :)

To be honest you know it's there but it's not in your face booming out everywhere.

Thank God for that :)I was beginning to think that Paradise had been turned into Karaoke Hell :o

No Karaoke hell at all. You know its there but it's easy to ignore. Believe me we wouldn't have kept going back if it was. :)

The Sunset Taverna is at the end of the village leading towards Avliotes Village. Just before the climb up the hill. Very nice food and setting .

--- Quote from: Bristle Boy on June 07, 2009, 02:04:37 AM ---Interesting stuff on this discussion. Question for the regs: When we visited in 1993 (our one and only visit; back in less than 10 days) we used to frequent a bar up the hill a bit towards the church. I can't remember what it was called and wouldn't know if it's still there now. Anyway, it was quite a lively place with people in age ranges 18 -50s. Is it still there?
Forgot to mention just now and i know this is a longshot 16 years on: There was a young greek guy working there called Leo (reckon he was about 23 at the time), my wife thought he was the dishiest guy in SS; he also used to run the beachsports back in those days, with a DJ from Sunderland. Is Leo still in the village?
--- End quote ---
If it's Leo from Teresa he still runs the beach activities (and is now happily married with a little girl) :)

Yes that would be Pandora's Bar, initially run by Stefanos for a few of years, then he built and opened the Condor in the main street,
a bigger version of Pandora's bar.
Pandora's ran on for another year or so run by an English guy who called himself "Moose"
(why Moose - well he recon's it's because he was well hung and a babe magnet).
Stefanos closed it because it was not Managed very well and it infringed the "Trust" factor.
It is now Apartments. Leo as Jules say's, is still the only real Babe Magnet - the Local "Greek God" as my wife calls him!
--- End quote ---
Thanks guys. That's it and yes, it's the same Leo. I've just been on the teresa website, after Jules posted earlier it was up and running again.
He doesn't look any different than he did 16 years ago! It must be the lifestyle of San Stef that keeps people looking so chilled!
The guy was an absolute gem of a 'host' even back then, as a barman in Pandoras. The Teresa website certainly gives a message of 'enjoy yourselves, relax and have fun!'.
Can't wait to arrive 1 week tomorrow.
