Has anyone eaten at the Olive Press this year? Unfortunately we never quite made it this time. We would love to read comments about it as we really enjoyed eating there.

Had one meal there in our 21 days. It was very quiet with only 2 other tables occupied. l enjoyed my lamb but others were not that impressed. No plans to go back again next yr.

Yes Likewise - we said hello to George and it wasn't busy at all, but love to hear first hand if the menu has changed much?
We didn't get there either this year, we had to find entertainment for our Grandson and it was a touch too quiet!

One opinion doesn't constitute anything. How can one put one opinion against nothing?

No? well, ok, from what I re-collect after nearly 6 weeks it was a totally forgettable and average meal [ I cant recall what we had ], but thats just my opinion, it seemed to be doing badly and, imho, probably suffered from the superior cooking at the Beachcomber, and at least an equally good competitor in the Nafsika next door, try it and see.

"Monolingual Yakida"? sorry but that bamboozles me...are you learning Japanese? ??? :)

I have to say that I was totally underwhelmed by the Olive Press, and I thought they were expensive compared to others.

We passed Olive Press on a number of occasions during our 2 week stay in second half of June, but it was always empty (not a good sign in our eyes; maybe that's unfair but that's how we viewed things). Menu didn't seem that inspiring to be honest. Maybe we'll try next year.

Well folks, just have to say that many places are quiet this year ( although not all ), and it varies from week to week. The old end of the village has been particularly quiet.
As for empty Restaurants - they all start off empty each day, and someone has to be the first to walk in! They shouldn't necessarily be judged for being quiet - it doesn't mean they're not worth trying, or indeed that they are always empty. The Olive Press has had quite a number of busy nights - we've seen it from across the road!!

As a tourist in previous years, I understand what you are saying - but as someone who has lived here for a few years, I can see the other side too!
