August Bank Holiday
« on: August 20, 2009, 09:35:33 PM »
Not long now until the last bank holiday of the year. What is everybody doing? We are undecided whether to go to the Lake District with Sandra's mum as she has a static caravan there. The other option is a long weekend in Lincolnshire. Unfortunately only 20% of my section can be on leave at one time. As eight are "term time only " out of 22 that is School Holidays a non-starter. With only bank holiday Monday off we are pretty hamstrung.
How do you spend "Long Weekends?"

Of course there is the small matter of Sunderland at home on the 29th!!

Not doing much, Don, as saving pennie for hols !!!

Am going to my mates village on the Saturday, there is a raft race and things going on down in the village, and her local pub has a barbie and live music etc through the afternoon and into the evening, so prob sample a few beers knowing we have 2 days still off work !!!!!

Then, weather permitting, will prob be in garden with a good book for the rest of the weekend.

Bank Holiday Weekend we're going down to Leek in Staffs to visit friends we met in Skiathos over 10 years ago, we take turns to visit one another 3 or 4 times a year, and it's our turn to go down there, so I'm looking forward to that! :)

Well this time we will probably have a lovely walk in the village of SS and also on the lovely sandy beach. Then have a swim in a lovely pool and of course admire the views. In the evening a lovely meal and drinks in the bar and have a chat or 2 with anyone who will listen lol!!!!!!!!.

Well I was hoping to receive an invite for:-
Golf, Gardening, Guitar, Drinking and possibly Nude Mud Wrestling with playboy bunnies!!
Unfortunately, no invite, firstly - - & although I have the bulk of the day to myself,
I actually have to go to work on the first of my 7 Night shifts.
At least I have Thus/Fri/Sat/Sun off before the B/Hol Monday - work my week of nights - and a week off afterwards!!
So - B/Hol Monday - the Drinking is definitely out - (we get random tests for alcohol and drugs), I never take drugs except what the GP thinks I need to stay semi-healthy, may do a touch of gardening, can't play guitar,
and unless the nude mud wrestling has the green light - looks like a quiet day for me!!

Come to think of it, maybe we could arrange a village nude mud wrestling contest in S S!!
I am sure that Bev & co. would be up for that!! LOL
Happy Days in Agios Stefanos, Avliotes, Corfu!! TonyCo1
