Greek Fires

(1/2) > >>

Zimmer:
Apologies in advance if this isnt a thread on your favourite topic however, as we all love Greece, it's good news that the wind has dropped and the fire fighters are beating the flames, sometimes living in a [usually ] boring weather system has it's advantages

tonyco1:
Corfu doesn't suffer too badly from severe fires, maybe because it's so green, but there have been times when it's happened - just on a smaller scale. I remember one August Holiday some years ago, seeing seaplanes fight fires!
Imagine buying a property there and losing everything - consumed by fire - awful thought!
It's something Greece, Italy, and many other countries - USA & Australia included, suffer in a long dry summer.
I feel sorry for these people who have to start again!

Jules:
I agree Tony - it would be devastating

tonyco1:
Don made the best of it and did some toast on a Neptune fork of course!!

zoe:
it must be the things that you cant replace that would be worse like family photos but as long as everyone is safe
