Hi - I have just looked at the Arillas forum and there is a wine festival around the 11th/12th September - does anyone know if anything about this - sounds interesting?  ::)

Yippee, went to the one last year. It goes on until way late every night with different village dancing groups etc and a tsunami of wine flows, so much so that I had a big job trying to get back to the Kaloudis each night. It is on the area just past the Brouklis under the trees where there is a big building on the left as you go out of Arillas Beach. I will give it another go this year.

Yes...firstly...it is..a festival! and ...secondly ..it is about....wine!!!

but, seriously, it's the September equinox when Baccanalian orgies are afoot and centaurs cavort with virgins, and people get hammered -- you'll love it

We were there too last year when we stayed in Arillas and had a brilliant time... it usually goes on for two nights... they sold souvlaki for 1 euros and 5 euros for a jug of wine which you could keep and go back as often as you like for refills.  The dancing was great and you could join in with the locals after the displays.  It is just past the Brouklis restaurant and before the little bungalow with the picket fence.
