Changing Money - Cash or Travellers Cheques

Hello, not long now we fly out in 12 days staying at the Teresa for a week.

We normally take some Euros for the first couple of days and the rest in Sterling Travellers Cheques however with the rate being as bad as it is I'm trying to save money where possible so was thinking of taking sterling cash instead of travellers cheques and just using the safe.

Can anyone confirm if there is commission for changing £'s cash like there is for £ travellers cheques?
What is the rate in the resort at the moment?
Can you change money at the Teresa?

If you look around you can get it changed without commission, Pele & Maria, will do it for you in the Paper shop commission free.
Not sure if the travel agents there still do commission free, they used to!
We took cash - Euro's and Sterling, this year! Worked out well!!
