Another blxxdy virus!!

Sorry if the forum has been unavailable lately, the virus came back to haunt me over Christmas and needed cleaning out once again. All back to normal now getting used to this it doesn't take long to fix now!!

I think its something left behind from the last time. I have just updated the forum from version 1.1.10 to 1.1.11 and the virus came back following this upgrade. The support forum seem to think that it was a file left from the previous virus which I thought I cleared out in July. Still I deleted all files this time and completed a full re-install and scanned the forum using a tool provided by the SMF support so fingers crossed.

I have another problem though, this all started when I noticed an increase in error messages in admin. The error messages show me when banned users try to log-in when members forget their passwords and general errors. I noticed one particular IP address coming up regulary in this so I banned it! Well now this Russian Guest (I can tell they are Russian by the IP address) is trying to view the forum every 15 seconds or so and creating an error message as a banned user every time they do. I am in touch with SMF support about how I can ban this IP address without creating hundreds of error messages, they have given me one option but I need to go away and find out how to implement.

We will get the b@st@rds in the end. I just wish they would leave us alone they have nothing to gain by keep attacking an innocent friendly forum like ours.

I did not notice anything offline here and have even been sad enough to log in every day over Christmas!!
