Greek Economy
« on: January 20, 2010, 12:38:19 PM »
Hi,  We are looking to book San Stefanos this year as we had such a great time in 2009 but we have heard some reports of an unsteady Greek Economy.  Has anyone else heard anything and should it put you off booking this year ???

Hi Frosty
If you check the Yammas Bar part of the Forum you will find a number of postings on the Greek Economy which may be of use to you.

I still think it will be a good place to book, hopefully prices won't have changed a lot.

Apparantly the Greek government are €50billion in debt. Probably about the same as UK. I think it will hit people over there more than tourists. just hope that we do not see any one business going under like we have here.

I can't see businesses pricing themselves out of the picture - but it's a difficult forecast this year.

So it happened then, they were bailed out today. Strikes everywhere yesterday and the first general strike planned soon. I sadly foresee lots of strife over the stringent cutbacks now necessary.

Fingers crossed - not Coaches or Corfu Airport please!!

They would be daft to bite the hand that feeds them - they need the Tourists behind them!

Thinking the same today. Half of the Eurozone is in the deep mire! Still expect fudge after fudge from the EU.

Aaaarrrghhhh I hate Crocs....think they're the worst item of clothing ever invented....you'll all be wearing jelly beans next!  ;)

For me it will be a nice new pair of Adidas white trainers (always Adidas but occasionally Lacoste), flip flops for round the pool and a nice pair of sandals for the odd evening although might adopt the boating shoe look this season.

I'll wait until the tan's developed nicely before going for the Miami Vice look of Sandals, white linen trousers, pink lacoste linen shirt and shades!!

LOL!!

Hi Gav
Try as i might i cannot see how banning crocs would improve the Greek economy.Having said that i think it would improve The fashion of the feet.
The intoxication of your first visit to San Stefanos must be getting to you.
cheers
