I'm am optimist - I really can't see them doing it or getting away with it!

If you are having trouble translating the aioliko website, use http://translate.google.com I did, and read the whole thing in English. Just the size of these turbines is horrifying, I wouldn't want them on my doorstep that's for sure. Let alone the noise, and, the infrastructure that will be required to maintain them. Given the parlous state of the Greek economy I can't see anything happening in the near future, but........ Arc.

I was flying over the Essex coast on Monday, aircraft was quite far along the Thames Estuary, way beyond Southend and I counted 50 of these windmills plonked in the sea. It reminded me of the potential issue in San Stef and i wondered if anyone knew people in that area who had experience of the impact these wind turbines caused.
These looked to be quite far from the coast and from 15,000 feet they looked harmless.
Anybody got info on these?

Sorry Loftyscot - I don't know anyone who lives in the Thames estuary,
I have however seen a few Essex girls in white shoes dancing round white bags flailing their arms,
just like windmills and boy are they noisy!! Hope that helps a touch!! LOL
Here is a little info on them - (windmills) - and by the way - they are a size smaller than the size of the proposals for Corfu,
which should never be allowed to go ahead! UK is having the worlds biggest farm it seems - so expect it to grow!
