Title: Who's buying Euro's?
Post by: Tredegar Boy on May 08, 2012, 12:24:28 AM
Hi all,

Bit of a serious one this.

With the Euro currently at 1.24 and exchanging at 1.2213 with TravelFX is anyone thinking this is pretty good and getting their money now?

When the Euro first hit 1.22 about 3 weeks ago I got 1.2119 with TravelFX as I thought it wouldn't go much higher but what do I know. With pressure on the ECB to reduce interest rates again the exchange rate could go higher. I'm umming and arrrging at the moment though about getting some more as I'm just not sure about the Greek elections and what all that means.

Is anyone else taking the plunge or waiting until closer to their holiday.

p.s I could never speculate on currency movements I haven't go the nerve. I'm a nervous wreck worrying about my piffling amount.

It is a gamble when you buy them. When does depend upon yourself and what you think but in another posting about Euro's some others do have their own though on it. I took a gamble back in March getting ours at the same time as we bought our currency for Fuerteventura not really knowing anything and feel now that I should possibly have waited.

POST OFFICE RATE TODAY IS:
1.2080
0% Commission

Travelex RATE TODAY IS:
1.2140
0% Commission

You just have to work out if the lower rate is better or paying 2% commission

I think the rate will keep creeping up due to the uncertainty in Greece and the change of government in France.
