I went independently this year and booked the accomodation direct with Vagelis and paid £245 each (plus baggage) to fly with Monarch from Gatwick.

I think the total price for 3 of us with bags was £888.   I booked them mid-April to go from 5-19 Aug.

I agree with others that I don't like the monopoly that Thomsons have in SS and Leo at Tereza told me a few years back that based on every B&B guest staying with them, they are given €5 a day per guest by Thomson!!!  €5 a day to cover the room and breakfast, totally disgraceful!!

Hence, I will now go indy in the future and have booked with Vagelis for next August and will book flights early next year.   At the moment Monarch are quoting £398 for next Aug and Thomsons are about the same so will keep an eye out over the next few months and when they drop down to around the £200 mark, I will buy buy buy!

Vagelis confirmed this morning that we have the Helena Villa (behind Nafsika) booked for 2 weeks from 18 Aug - 1st Sept.

Will book flights early next year!!

So glad to have it to look forward again for next year! 

I've emailed TA demanding an explanation as to why it was removed after being on there for 4 days.

If Kostas has demanded they remove it then I will ring him directly - I am not having it.

Obviously it might be a glitch but we shall see!

They suited us for once as they were £100 cheaper each than the day flights and also our 3 son thankfully slept there and back rather than run riot on a day flight!

You have probably both hit the nail on the head in that its somewhere I switch off completely and escape the worries and stresses that comes with normal life in the UK.

In SS - I am always happy, bathed in sunshine and worry free and that is an intoxicating blend and hence why I miss it so badly when I am home.

My mum is down looking after Nate this week as I am back to work and we were sitting musing last night saying how lovely it would be to not have to worry about the cost and just jet over to SS for long weekends every month of the spirng/summer/autumn together with a 3-4 week long break in August................oh I can dream.   I have upped my investment in the lottery 

At least it is always there, my magical little place and without wanting to sound like I am wishing my life away, I cannot wait to be back next year.

I tried to keep it fairly objective as Kostas is known for replying to TA reviews that are unfavourable and accusing the reviewer of deliberately sabotaging his hotel in order to help push forward other places to stay and eat in the village. Im sure he will comment so look forward to his explanation interest.

I understand Debra's view is different but its interesting to note that she was treated so well when her son had his wedding there.....i bet the reception would have been very different had they just walked in off the street...!
