Oh right! I paid a 40% deposit for the Fedra Mare booking for next June, but the overall price is such good value it was worth it.

Just seems a shame that Thomson's appear to be using their financial muscle in San Stef; how long before other hotel/apartment owners are 'bought'?!

Ejet usually release summer flights in about early Nov. But, of course this year they released April, May and June 2010 'early' - was it end July roughly?

Will they release July, Aug and Sept 2010 soon or not until late Nov? Who knows?

I reckon they released the first 'half' of Summer 2010 early to get some cashflow into the co. I will be checking Ejet for Sept 2010 everyday now, as i need to book our flights from BTL to Faro.

Sunshine - this appears to be part of a trend with Thomson and San Stef. They are becoming very 'dominant' in San Stef and are obviously 'controlling' the prices. On another thread i've just given the info that The Little Prince is handing over ALL bookings to Thomson from 2010, previously they were with Thomson + some private bookings.

It wouldn't surprise me if the normal 'discount' periods/offers of late October, early Jan that Thomson usually offer do not appear this time around.

This piece of info is especially for all the Regs on here:

As you know we've now booked our 2010 stay with Dimitris at Fedra Mare, but through the last week i emailed a number of places in San Stef.

Received a reply from the Little Prince today, informing me that they are handing over ALL bookings to Thomson from 2010; no private bookings at all. If you guys already knew this, then apologies, but i thought i'd let u know in case any of you were considering Little Prince for next year as a private booking.

TUI/Thomson on the 'sweep up' in San Stef??!!

Chris - not stayed at the Fedra before - hope it's OK. I don't know Don, other than thru' here. I do buy a round....honest!!

Zimmer - 11 days because Ejet from BTL gives us the option of a Monday to Friday stay...and yes you're correct...another 11 days later...in September, in another one of your favourite places.....Carvoeiro on The Algarve! That's our regular haunt of the last 8 years.

Jules - i'm afraid Portland priced us out of a return visit to Terezas! It's far too expensive now and as much as we loved it this year in June it's not worth £1100 for 2 weeks for the two of us!

Completed booking today for next June.

Flying out on Monday 7th June, staying for 11 nights, leaving Corfu on Friday 18th June. Easyjet from Bristol. Scheduled to leave BTL at 6.50am, so should be in SS by about 2.30pm. Fingers crossed.

Staying at Fedra Mare, completed booking with Dimitris this eve. Long time to wait, but already looking forward.

Maybe see some of you there.

Just saw the weather on Sky news and i'm afraid it ain't good news if you're in Corfu for the next few days.

I'm a weather geek and there's a low pressure system that will be stuck over Italy and Greece for next few days, producing heavy, thundery rain.

Mid-End Sept not a good time to visit Corfu unfortunately; can be a very thundery, rainy time of year!

Tony - thanks for reply on taxi price. Nearly all set to book for 2010. Sadly not at Terezas via Portland - too expensive. The guys at terezas would be fine if they went independent, that's for sure!

Just waiting for clearance at work on my holiday request for next year and then i'll be booking!

Thanks for info. I'll try san stef travel.

Is Fedra Mare OK? What do you think about taxi from and to airport for 50 euros e/w; is that normal price?

Emailed the Nondas contact agent yesterday, but got a reply from her today to say that she is no longer dealing with booking enquiries for Nondas from next season. Anyone know how else i can contact Nondas for a quote?

Looked on the website again and the only contact is through the agent, who no longer 'works' for them.

Had a v.competitive quote from Fedre Mare for both studio and apartment, as there's only 2 of us i guess the studio is adequate. Anyone care to comment? Any of the regs on here stayed at Fedre Mare? What's the bathroom like?

Taxi transfer - Airport to SS and return - what's the going rate? Is it best to sort thru' SS travel or thru' the accomodation? I know some offer in the price quoted, others 'on top', but still arrange? Is 50 euro e/w for the two of us reasonable?

Cheers BB

Thanks for the info. I looked at Nondas and Perros Hotel. Both look v.nice, with Nondas at v.reasonable prices (2009 anyway, can't imagine they'll go up much for 2010). Perros a bit more expensive, but nice all the same. The inclusion of transfer from/to Corfu airport at Nondas makes it very tempting.

I'll have a look at Sunset/4 seasons now.

Bristle Boy............... Have a look at Tui/Thomson/Portland as accommodation only we've done this for the last 3 years and saved a fortune!! Worked out cheaper than independent booking!

Just tried this on Thomson.co.uk and for an 11 night stay in June 2010 it came up with one hotel in San Stef! The Romanza at £429, so not bad but i would like a little more choice!

I'll search this site and internet. I'm thinking of Fedre Mare, Little Prince or there was one place we saw in June opposite Paradise taverna that looked OK. Anyone recommend anywhere?

SB. Myself and me wife felt exactly the same as you when we'd travelled to Corfu in June with Thomson. Plain (or is it Plane?!) awful!!

I said to her that if we fly with them next year to Corfu i'm not going to pay the in-flight meal supplement. As it stands at the mo looks like we'll be going with Ejet from BTL and we're used to their flights because of our frequent visits to Spain and Portugal.

Take on a decent brekkie at the airport or bring your own rolls seems to be the answer. In=flight meals have never been great, but the one we were served on both flights in and out of Corfu was truly dreadful!

San Stefanos news and views / TUI/Thomson/Portland raking it in for 2010

Been price watching for the last 2 months for 2010 visit to San Stef thru' Portland.

We stayed at Terezas in June this year and were planning to return for 2nd half of June 2010. But i guess it must be almost fully booked now for next June.  Why?
Well, looked tonite and now up to staggering £550 - £600 for 14 nights for June dates.

Knowing what Leo and Fannis get paid by Tui for each booking/night, it's v.little, TUI must be absolutely coining it in from Tereza's for June next year!

If we're going to re-visit next June looks like we'll have to do easyjet from BTL, and private booking at alternative accomodation in San Stef. Where's best guys? Flights at mo will cost £300 for the two of us. Looking to spend about another £400-£500 for 14 nights accomodation. Don't want to be too far out from centre of village.
Any advice appreciated.
Regards
