Not for  me - but it's giving some people a bit of work.

Yes, Cerys - but dupnica does have a point. A trip in the goddessmobile would help those who are legless - which is probably 99%!

For those who aren't convinced - take a look at this:

http://www.agiosgeorgios.co.uk/afionas1.htm

You can see why it's been inhabited for many thousands of years.

Not mosquitoes in the olive groves. Gnats. Or fruit flies.

About the same number as you find in West Yorkshire, Gav.

I'm probably wrong, but I believe Evinos is owned by Spiros(Havana Bar)'s parents, and they used to carry food down to the bar until they built the beach kitchen.

Had a few beers there in the day, and will certainly do a sunset supper when we return in September.

Parga has some wonderful trips around it: Dodona, the oldest Greek theatre; Ioannina - lovely lakeside town; the (misnamed) river Styx (actually Acheron); the high cliff from which the Souliote women threw themselves and their children to avoid capture by the Turks... and so on. In fact the whole of Epirus is almost a magic kingdom.

The walk up through the olive groves and then through Garnades is wonderful. I shall draw a map-lette tomorrow.

Put repellent on if you are prone to getting bitten; there are lots of midges in the olive groves.

Lilly, the dogs are lovely. They're only doing their job. If you pass by, they will accept that. If you talk calmly to them in a confident voice they will be less aggressive. Don't smile - that's a teeth-baring signal.

They just need to know that you're not threatening them, their children, or their territory, and they'll love you. As do we all.

Maybe I'm old and stupid (Ed: Maybe?) but if you're going to flaunt the delicate bits, surely wearing a hat is a concession to to the power of sunlight, but not applying it to those nethers (Is nethers an actual word?: ED)? is OK for girls because unless they're exceptionally lucky their nether bits are tucked away and protected until the (temporary) key to the jewel box is granted.

My (probably ridiculous) view is that if you want to be a child of the sun, wearing a floppy hat whilst flaunting a reproductive organ is seriously naff.

The doggies are locked up usually, and if not they're okay if you talk to them. Sing "LA LA lal-la-lala" and they'll start dancing.
