We both tried to visit the Romanza one night, but found the hill too much for us two old folks. We got about half way there, and ran out of steam lol.Amazing scenery on the way, which was a bonus.Someone could earn a bob or two, with a small taxi type service,a tuk tuk springs to mind lol.

Hire a quad bike next time Winkie, great for getting up the hill!

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know what exchange rate you are getting in San Stef at the moment?

Has been posted about a week ago, 1.15 minus 2% commission, so effectively 1.127

Not special, get euros in UK

I believe the reason that the beach has become narrower has been caused by "Long shore drift". This would explain the small lagoon
and sandbar we could see on the webcam a few weeks ago and the fact that the river appeared to have changed it's course.
No wonder the JCB was so busy trying to sort it all out.

Sounding a bit like Jimbo!!!

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Romantic Meal.

Got to agree about The Beachcomber, although Mrs Wasp likes it. The meals are not so Greek, they don't do glasses or carafe's of wine and they don't take cards.

I just cannot get the memories out of my head, such a wonderful holiday in San Stefanos. We visited many restuarants when there, and watched the dancers every night. We found that they are very samey, but such a delight, our favourites were Zorba,s and Little Prince. These folks, add to the great atmosphere in their already busy places.Which is your top spot for the dancing ?.Looked on u-tube and found one dance we had not come across, the Chain Dance,in the Prince, wish I could have been there.

Look on Youtube for The Romanza Hotel, Andreas dancing, he's the highest kicker you will ever see

Kapetanios is great, only been there for drinks and meals.  The bartender Dominic was great last year, we were invited to his son's christening, unfortunately he's not there this year, working in Arillas I here.

Information and help please / Re: general infor for the summer

Trouble is most places charged 2.50€ for beer in Tenerife - only a few places were 1€ - and some were time restricted... stop teasing!! LOL

Never saw beer for 2.50€ Tony, you obviously stated at the wrong end of town!

Yep at the Barras too, can't wait!  So looking forward to it, especially as lots of things look cheaper than we are used to in Spain! Extra cocktail I think! And maybe an ice cream or 2...

Price of a pint of beer in Ag Stef = 2.50 - 3.00 euros, price of a pint of beer in Tenerife = 1.00 euro, not cheaper as far as I'm concerned.

Most tavernas accept cards, the only one I know that doesn't is The Beachcomber, but remember, withdrawing cash from an ATM is likely to cost you dear due to high commission charges.

Tony, your quote "it seems to get smaller each year, I've never seen it so small".  When we were in Tenerife a couple of weeks ago, Linda confided to Mrs Wasp that this was indeed the case!! It happens in old age!!

It's been very cold down the East Coast for days. I was shivering yesterday. It struggled up to 13C today - was 11C yesterday.

Move south Jimbo, BBQ yesterday with full sun all day, temperatures of 21-23, terrific!!
