With all the signs of a damn hung parliament, AND the Greek bailout appearing inadequate, after a few days of the euro rate declining I have jumped in and got some from a company I found via www.moneysavingexpert.com called TravelFX.com. they are based in Hertfordshire, do not charge commission, free Royal Mail Special Delivery at no cost if over £500s worth, and I got 1.1350 yesterday which was the best rate I could find anywhere. You order your currency with them, and they then send you an email detailing their bank details. You go to your bank website and then pay the bill as normal and it will probably go by Faster payment, so if ordering weekeday AM you will get your currency the next morning, has to be signed for at your address.

Thomas Cook in Great Yarmouth yesterday was at 1.09. Might have to go and get some if all the horror stories about the election come out true, if we end up with a hung parliament or even worse, more of Brown and cronies then the £ will sink out of sight.

Taken from Sidari.net

If you want to venture further afield then we can arrange car, bike or bicycle hire. There is a regular bus service to and from
Corfu Town throughout the day
and taxis are easy to find.

Oops, make that billions, did not read it carefully enough. In Telegraph today comment that the UK might yet have to stump up its part of the bailout. More lies Gordon??

Looks like the Germans and French have bailed Greece out to the tune of 30 million euro.

Wow, their petrol used to be way below ours, last year it was about a euro per litre. To be dearer it will now be something like 1.30/40 euro per litre I guess. >:(

Information and help please / Re: Driving age
« on: March 09, 2010, 11:50:55 AM »
To rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. An international drivers license is required. Some suppliers have a maximum rental age of 70. Seatbelts are mandatory. Child seats are mandatory for children up to age 4.

Have just changed our annual insurance to Intune Group (LV really) and they have halved out premium AND cover me for my cancer at no extra cost. We are both over 65 and it has come down from £160 with Direct Travel to £97 with Intune. It is not an inferior cover neither, so we are well pleased.
