San Stefanos news and views / Re: Cost of flights
« on: February 15, 2013, 01:03:24 AM »
Well finally gone and done it. Kept an eye on prices 3/4 times a day. Easyjet kept going up so looked at Thomson from Bristol and Cardiff. Over the period of 7 days the Bristol Thomson flights fell from £428 per person to £288. Bought 3 at £288 so now looking for cheap parking, insurance etc. Don't want much do I!

Definately learnt a lesson this year though i.e. I won't be booking in school holidays next year. I noticed the price for 3 of us travelling the last Friday in June for 2 weeks was £178 per person last week. Thats a huge saving.

Youngest son will have finished his GCSEs by the end of June next year so we'll go then in 2014.

Assume it's Fedra Mare again?

Yes, they have gone crazy. Our flights for June 2013 (for two of us) booked last year with Easyjet were £340 including luggage, select seats and admin fee.

Now, exactly the same flights/times with Easyjet including the same options are £693

Thomsons cost for the same dates are now £842 and Thomas Cook now charges £522

Our flights to Corfu in September 2013 have so far gone up by £66. I expect that by May/June 2013 that cost would have increased significantly.

I thought we might get a week in San Stefanos in May next year to keep me going till August. So I checked out the Thomsons website.

Thomson flights for two of us from Edinburgh on the 17th May including bags etc £873.00.
A package holiday for the two of us on the same flight including bags, transfers and bed and breakfast at the Teresas £836!

Who could believe that. ::)

Pretty sure they had The Sundowner Bar, directly opposite The Nafsika Hotel.  It has been closed for at least two years now, shame!

It looks to me that Theodosia is slightly elevated and I can't do slopes or stairs very well.  That also put's out  Golden Beach as I think it's further up the harbour road.  I have painful arthritis in both knees which makes even walking on the flat quite difficult....but.....I WILL find something suitable! :P

Thanks for all you help  :D

Try The Romanza, and hire a quad bike!!

Our Easyjet flights for next year were £320, 8 days later (today) they are £562.

Just had a look at the Easyjet flights - very expensive compared to previous years from Manchester.  It would of cost us for the two weeks we want Aug/Sept Just over £450 for two of us just for the flights

We have booked a few times independently and saved quite a considerable amount.  This year we booked with Thomsons and have also done again for next year as the price was a lot cheaper than doing it independently.  It is a shame really as we would like to give our custom directly to the owners of the hotels.

Also noted that you can now pre book your seat with Easyjet for £3

Easyjet prices from Gatwick are cheaper next year than they were this year for us, £320 for the two of us and good daytime flights as well.

Today the same flights are £88 dearer!!

Pre booked seats are available FROM £3.00

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Delfino Blu
« on: October 03, 2012, 10:26:56 PM »
There are only a handful of accommodations in San Stefanos that can compare to the Delfino Blu's high standards, those accommodations include;
The Fedra Mare, The Paralia Apartments, The Sugar & Almond Apartments, The Vassilys Apartments and The Margaritas Suites.
If you are looking for outstanding value for money, the Margaritas Suites offer luxury standards at excellent prices. They are located right on the beach front and have their own private garden, breathtaking sea views out towards the Diapontia Islands and offer superlative comfort. Here is the link where you can view pictures and videos of the individually decorated suites.

Have you forgotton The Romanza Villas Cerys?

I was just going to mail you to say thanks for the vino. Bit Metaxaed out this morning, but fine now! I think!

Just to annoy the folks at home - what a fantubulously super-wonderful hot sunny day it's been. How can the sea be as calm as a blue lake? It's six pm and 32oC.

How distant the rain and windswept streets of Blighty seem as the glowing orange orb of the god Solaris descends towards the headland and the little hire boats from the beach get towed home to the harbour like ducklings following their mother. Etc.

Actually, we would have lost the quiz if I had agreed with Gillie's incorrect answer to the question "What does a liquid turn into when it boils?"

Gas maybe?

Seems like it was raining all day yesterday, and the weather forecast from The Met Office and the BBC shows rain until at least Tuesday.

Glad we got home on Wednesday!!

If that's true at least we'll be guaranteed to win the Nafiska Pub Quiz!

It was still quite busy that time last year. Nice for walking :-)

Not this year, so I hear from Chris, he finishes in early October.

And I suspect Speros will win the quiz, he writes the questions!
